Castello Sforzesco (The Castle)

Located near the downtown area and backed by the marvelous Sempione Park, the Sforzesco Castle was built in the 4th century and named after the Duke of Milan, Francesco Sforza. The castle was transformed in the 20th century into a cultural center filled with museums, including an Egyptian one and a Pre-Historic center. Its library preserves DaVinci’s Trivulzian Code. The easiest way to get to the castle is by walking along Via Dante from the Piazza del Duomo—you can’t miss its striking façade.
